I spent the morning in the studio with some very willing and enthusiastic models, posing in their Christmas best to show off my new backdrops for this years festive Christmas family shoots. It felt a bit odd, digging out the fairy lights and baubles when we are currently experiencing something of an Indian summer here in the south, but when we got into the studio and started shooting, it felt like we had fast forwarded into December.
One of the willing models was my gorgeous little monkey, Seb. Not normally a fan of the camera, it has to be said, he thoroughly embraced the spotlight for a nice change and | managed to capture the side of him that his daddy and I adore so much.
The Christmas mini-sessions are going to be the highlight of my year, I know it. If you know me, you'll know I'm a wee bit nuts about Christmas. I'm always the first in my family and friend group to put up the tree, and I start getting that festive feeling the moment Halloween is over. It's like I conform to the social norm and act all "it gets earlier every year" along with the rest of the Facebook police right up until the moment the clock strikes 'November' and then I feel confident that I have complete permission to act like the biggest kid in the toy shop and slide the Christmas CD into my car's stereo where it shall remain for the next 8 weeks. Much to the annoyance of my long suffering husband.
Look at adorable little Kathryn, modelling the most adorable Christmas outfit I have ever seen. This little poppet is like a walking clothes horse. And I aim to emulate the style her mother has chosen for her with my little Darcey too. Those shoes?! That bow? I cannot even. Kathryn and her mummy are coming back to the studio next week for a Christmas photo together since we ran out of time this week. I can't wait to see the range of outfits she brings this time. I'm in baby-girl clothes heaven.
So, it may be hotter than July outside, but in my studio, the weather outside is frightful, and I'm getting all festive up in here. Christmas family sessions will be open to book on the 23rd of September. Spaces are very limited, only five sessions a day, so book yours now to avoid disappointment. Prices start at £49 with images.
